I read everyday and i read mostly for pleasure and escapism but I do love to learn something new or see it through a different way. I found this group on a search looking for a place to talk about one of my great loves, reading, with other who arent going to roll there eyes at me and say "the librarians coming out" lol
I started reading when I was pregnant with my daughter because I really wasn't a good reader, well I was more like pretty bad, because I was to vain and never would wear my glasses to school. So I decided I had to get better to be able to teach my coming daughter. Now I read 2-3 books a week and I'm a pretty fast reader, Still to paranoid read aloud to anyone but my kids lol, My daughter is the 3rd best reader in her 1st grade class which is the top in her year and my son is just getting started and loving it. So it was one of the best things I ever did along with reading to them each day.
The first book I ever read was 'The power of one' by Bryce Courtany. It clearly changed my life and I loved it.
I have alot of favorite books all I consider my old friends. The power of one is a definite but I love Robbin Hobb, Trudi Canavan, Anne Rice, Anne Bishope, Jacqualine Carey, Maria v snider, Jude Fisher, Kristin Cashore, Suzanne Collins, Isobelle Carmody, Karen Brooks, C.S.Lewis, J.K.Rolling and so many more.
I have recently decided it's time I read some classic and I'm about to start 'Treasure Island'. If anyone has any suggestions of classics they loved I'd love to hear your recommendation and than compare our thoughts.
Thank you very much for reading about me
