If I am browsing, I am greatly influenced by the cover, but it's the blurb on the back or online descriptions that sell me. I do follow some authors too and keep a look out for anything new by them.

Recommendations are a big factor on my book selections. I also will read most anything by certain authors. Titles, covers, and the synopsis also play a role in my decisions.

I always read books by Cassandra Clare, Jodi Picoult, AG Howard, and Nicholas Sparks. They are my go-to authors. Other than that, I pick books based on the type of book that they are-I love fairy tale spin offs, and classics re-done. And dystopian and romances, you can't forget about those!

Usually if I am reading for fun I will choose a favorite author. If I am in the mood for something a little more meaty I will choose a topic and hope that the book I choose won't ruin my quest for knowledge.

I read the summary. If it's funny, inspirational, does not contain explicit scenes and/or sensuality, and has a good message, I might read it.

I usually follow reading lists.
Or when I feel in the mood to read a certain genre my intuition tells me what to read next.

Usually I'll read the blurb and if I'm still confused might check out ratings on goodreads. Rarely do I pick a book based just on cover anymore.

Basically, I will read anything, I mean anything (even grocery lists if I could) by my favorite authors. I usually look at title, and covers, and then I will look at the information on the sleeve. I really pay attention to everything about the book. If the title isn't appealing, and the cover isn't appealing, I mainly will skip it, especially if I haven't heard of the author. Otherwise, I will pick books based on my mood, and what I am into at that moment. Now, I am really digging fairies and the fey, and anything having to do with that, so I am reading a LOT of Maggie Stiefvater, and anything fairy related, so it all depends what I am into at that moment.

I just walk around Barnes & Noble on a Friday night and pick up any book that looks interesting. I tend to wander into the teens/YA section and I pick the books that look interesting,

I pick by genre that appeals to me, then storyline description. Then I often go look for reviews :D

Usually by cover, though I'll search for a book if someone recommended it. Other than that, anything that catches my eye I usually pick up.

A lot of different ways. Looking through the shelves at my library, looking through Amazon's website, and word of mouth from friends and family.

I process new books that come into my library. I usually pick them when they come in, if they look interesting or if the title strikes me as interesting. I take recommendations from visitors to the library as well.
