When or if that was to happen it wouldn't be the worse thing. Everybody has an imagination as far as I am aware of, so for me I would write my own stuff or make characters in my mind and imagine things and such. Or simply I would sneak books even if I had to just have them in pages with no cover.

This makes me think of Fahrenheit 451. I would most likely be devastated, and search for other ways to satisfy my need to read.

Is storytelling still allowed? If it is, I would listen to the stories people have to tell, and I would tell my own. I would ask them to tell me stories from long ago and stories which they have just made up. That was how people got along before Gutenberg invented the movable printing press, so I suppose that is how it will be if books are banned.

I'd start writing my own books and encourage my children to write books themselves.

Oh God, you have given me nightmares. A world without books? oh dear. I don't think I'd be able to stand that.

Are we talking just physical books? Do audiobooks still exist? Did the internet go down? There is a lot of fan fiction that is not considered to be books. I think I'd end up reading a bunch of that. :P

I have no idea- probably just watch TV, which involves writing, at least.

I'd hide some books in a place they can't get to or don't expect to have books. Rereading books is better than not having anything to read. Oh and I'd read them secretly! :shhh:

Well this is quite an extrem thought. In this sort of world, I assume that books, reading and writing would be illegal. Therefore I would write books myself and distribute them amongst the public in frequented locations. I would also create a secret society of reading and wrighting. Gather a following and over throw the outrageous law of no books and I might as well create a new and better government while I'm at it. Thinking about this, I believe creating a new order with the help of heart felt readers would bring a new era of peace and intelligence. No I simply could not allow a world to exist without books. By eliminating reading and writing, you put a stop on human creativity and progress, therefore placing an end to human development for the rest of time.

Write some. Although I'd probably get killed for it.

Worth it.

I would first try to sneak some books before the burning. Then, I would start writing my own story or passages I remember from books I've read. I would try to find trusted people doing the same, and we'd share our stories.

I don't think I would be very happy at all. Reading is one of my favorite things to do. But if I couldn't read I would just watch anime. so, to me, it wouldn't be the worst thing in the world. Now if they burned all the books and outlawed anime, I think I would be moving to Japan. Haha!
