When I am alone at home I never feel lonely if I have a book in the room with me or near me. There are about 300 books in bookcases on my front sunporch and some in my sunroom. I have a shelf of cookbooks in my kitchen. I read some of a paper book every day.
When I have trainride or a doctor's appointment I love having my Kindle with me. There are at least 100 choices of games and stories on my Kindle . If I started a story on the Kindle I will finish it at home.
Kindle books are more reasonable and sometimes free so as a retiree I am happy to have my Kindle.
Most paper books now I get at the Goodwill for $.50 to a $1.00 or at the Dollar Store which keeps the cost down. Sometimes I'll buy a paper book on Amazon if the Kindle version does not exist or is almost just as expensive as the paper version.
I don't like to read on the computer. My favorite is paper reading material but I would hate to give up my Kindle.

but if I really loved a certain book, I'll get it from the library after finishing the e-book or the audio book.
