I just have read wilderness. I don't know the writer by head. What a great book was that and that was easy to read too.

I am reading Lord of the Rings III again and it's still just as hard to read as the first time.

Hi, I have recently joined the forum.

Just finished Change of Heart by Jodi Picoult.
Before that, I have read The Secret Scripture by Sebastian Barry.
Really liked both books.

Currently reading Atonement by Ian McEwan.

Let me know what you think.

Thanks

I loved Atonement. That and The Forgotten Garden are my books of the year (from my reading list this year) so far. Hope you like it. :)

Another Atonement reader! Tht book seems really popular for people on this forum. I read it a few months ago.

At the moment I'm reading The Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde after seeing the movie recently. I'm really enjoying it so far.

A Sweet Far Thing by Libba Bray. I'm so sad I'm on the last one of the trilogy!

Naked Ape by Desmond Morris.

Picked up quite a few nonfiction books last week at B&N. I've always had a love for physics and want to expand my knowledge on the subject as far as I can. Up next is The Elegant Universe by Greene. Then A Short History of Nearly Everything by Bryson. Wish me luck :D

I'm reading Daughter of the Forest, the first book in the Sevenwaters series. It's a retelling of the old Celtic legend The Six Swans, and pretty engaging at that. :)

I also have The Picture of Dorian Gray and Foucault's Pendulum on my reading list, but just got around to reading the first few pages of both.

Edit: Ooh, Bennay, A Short History of Nearly Everything is a great book. Have fun with it. :D

Just reading 'the End of Faith' by Sam Harris, it's a bit heavy going, nowhere near as interesting as, for instance, Hitchens or even Dawkins, who is a bit humourless, but is, at least passionate.

Hitchens is gloriously vicious and hugely entertaining.

End of Faith is a bit dry, so far, I'm only a little way into it, it's easily put-downable, quite often due to me dozing off when trying to read it.

S.H.O.N.E is Great, and if you liked that, try the 'Science of Discworld' series. It's actually quite similar, and THE most accessible science book I've ever read. Like Bill Bryson, the authors keep the subjects amusing and you very rarely get your mind boggled by huge complex explanations, even if the subject is pretty complex.

Plus, interspersed with the science explanations is a pretty good Terry Pratchett story!
