For sure for sure for sure 22, but maybe a few more - I only counted the ones that I could truly remember the ending to! I am surprised at some of the titles here - are these classics? I suppose Cult classics....?

I have read a total of 11 all the way through.. But I have attempted maybe 30 of these. I have to be very entertained to continue on..

I'm surprised! I've actually read 13 of them! I didn't think I would have read that many classics. Totally put off by then because of school and being forced to read things. I was a rebel and didn't like my teachers telling me what I had to read.

14... Well, I still have time to catch up hahahaha, some of them have been on my "must" list for some time, but I have been too lazy to start them. By the way, what is this list about? the best books? Or just 100 famous books chosen randomly? Just curious.

The BBC is probably correct. You must remember where we are. This is a book reader's forum. WE probably have read more than 6 books, but the article is referring to the general population, not to people who read as as voraciously as most of us do. Personally I would be surprised to learn that most of the people I deal with in everyday life have read even six, and if they did it was probably in school.
