I read everything when I was younger. Starting with Junie B. Jones and Magic Tree House in elementary school. In middle school I started reading more classics like Little Woman, Little House on the Prairie and Gone With the Wind (one of my all time favorite books). But I also read just about every book by Margaret Peterson Haddix I could get my hands on.

When I was younger, I LOVED Harry Potter. I read it for the first time in fifth grade and still read it regularly today. I also loved the Magic Tree house books.

I used to read The Baby-sitters Club by Ann M. Martin. Wow! That was so long ago...

I grew up reading J.K. Rowling, James Patterson, and Steven King. I was not really into children's books (besides Harry Potter) and my dad was a big influence on my reading style since he loved mystery and crime novels.

When I was a child, my Aunty who worked in a library lived with us. She had a love for horror books and there was always at least one horror book in the house. So as a child the first books I read were horror books by Stephen King and Dean Koontz. I am still a big fan of Stephen King today and believe he is one of the best character writers around. :)

I started reading as a tween, so my first official books were the Princess Diaries series and then the Babysitter's Club.

Oh I loved the babysitters club series! I honestly never knew that the princess diaries was a series first, though that makes sense.

Goosebumbs by R. L. Stine

Series of Unfortunate Events by Lemony Snicket

I feel like there were others, like American Girl, Babysitters, and Judy Blume books but I'm not sure on the specifics. The two I listed though had the most lasting effect on me!

Yes! Very dark and depressing, but I loved reading this series when I was younger too. I just recently read through them all last year. Have you ever read K.A. Applegate's Everworld series? A lot shorter but just as dark.

Hello! had to re do my account because I wrote my email wrong.
No, I have not read the Everworld series. I wanted to, but it was something I just never got around to. maybe I should put them on my summer reading list.
