My two all time favorites are Pride and Prejudice and the Count of Monte Cristo! Those have been my summer rereads for years!

Wuthering Heights is by far the best classic for me!

Interesting. This thread was started four years ago. Wonder how many of those books ArbolWin has read since then. It was the only post he/she ever made on this site, lol.

Ah, well, my never-to-be-read-by-him/her recommendation is A Tale of Two Cities.

That is quite an impressive list you have there. Have to admit though that I have never been drawn to the classics. Tried once and found the writing style difficult and the story dry. Just my opinion.

The Count of Monte Crisco. I love a good old fashion revenge story.

I read Pride and Prejudice when I was a senior in high school and fell absolutely in love with Jane Austen. I have sense purchased all of the books she had written and have read each one three to four times each.

Someone mentioned earlier that this person is no longer active, but a list like this is hard to resist. There's a lot of good books here! Not that I've read them all... hmmm should work on that....
I'm a big fan of Jane Eyre and Pride & Prejudice, but I'm going to vote for Dracula. Its dark and stormy where I'm at right now so that might have something to do with it.

Yes, the writing style can put a lot of people off. But maybe you just haven't found the right book yet. :) If you like romance, you could try the old favorite, Jane Eyre.
