The play-- for which Briony had designed the posters, programs and tickets, constructed the sales booth out of a folding screen tipped on its side, and lined the collection box in red crepe paper-- was written by her in a two-day tempest of composition, causing her to miss a breakfast and a lunch.

"The first week in August hangs at the very top of summer, the top of the live-long year, like the highest seat of a Ferris wheel when it pauses in its turning."

Tuck Everlasting. I have a ritual that i read this book every year, at the beginning of summer. I guess with this quote i should do it every August, but from spring to summer always feels perfect for this book.
