The Picture of Dorian Gray 5/5. This classic has been recommended to me by so many people. I was not disappointed.

I have seen the movie, but never read the book. Maybe I need to give it a try finally.

Winter of the World by Ken Follett. Excellent story of the early to mid 20th Century including WW1 and WW11. A very long book but I was so caught up in the story I didn't mind. 10/10

The Rosie Project by Graeme Simsion
7 out of 10
I thought the book was interesting and, at times, humourous. Don, the main character, was so well developed that I really felt like I knew him. His quirks and mannerisms felt realistic. Still, the middle part of the story dragged a little and felt a bit repetitious. The book took me a long time to finish, which is unlike me.

Do comics count (he sheepishly asked)? I just recently caught up on the Walking Dead comic series, and even more recently wrote a review of it on my blog. (I will refrain from posting a link here, as difficult as it is.) I did not read it for the gore or the bloodshed, but for the character development--and that, I think, is what makes the story so fascinating. What would we be like in a world without laws, governments, or even police? How would we change, and what things would we do that we would never dream of doing in our present world?

It's not a perfect story (what story is?), it feels redundant at times (what story isn't?), but all in all I found it to be an original and fascinating read. I would recommend it to anyone who can stomach it.

The last book I read was Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn. I couldn't stop reading the book because it was so intense. The major twist in the novel was well written and kept me on the edge of my seat. This novel is perfect for the psychological thriller readers. I give this book a 10/10.

Orphan Train by Christina Baker Kline - I give this book a 9/10.
I enjoyed everything about this book. The author's writing style and pacing of the story was great. I liked the plot device of alternating between the present day and the Niamh/Dorothy/Vivian's childhood in the 1920's. The book started off slowly, but once I got into the story, I couldn't put the book down.

Armour Dure by Vernon Lee. Strange story of a guy who falls in love with a woman who has been dead for 200 years. She was a pretty bad customer, she murdered all her husbands and lovers and this poor sap was doing research about her life fell for her like a ton of bricks. He saw her everywhere he went, her dead husbands and lovers tried to warn him what a slut she was, but to no avail. Not a bad story, kind of depressing but well written and enjoyable.

Passion, Power and Sin by Mike Wells- bought it for a quick and easy read in a two book bundle by the same author. The only drawback was that you can't help but notice the similarities in both books e.g personality of the villain and the heroine- fun though :) 3.5/5

The Paying Guests by Sarah Waters
Set in London post WW1 this book is both a romance and a crime novel and I really enjoyed it. I woke at 3am this morning & with about 15 pages left I read until I finished the book! Superb characters and brilliant suspense - definitely 4/4*
