"The Illicit Happiness of Other People" by Manu Joseph. I just finished it last night. It's beyond words why it moved me so. It wasn't out of a sense of sadness, nor were they tears of joy. It was just powerful, and moving in it's beauty. I highly recommend this novel. It is humorous, philosophical, mysterious, depressing, exhilarating, and so much more. Highly original and thought provoking.

The Love Story- Eric Segal
I was in year 8 when I read this book. The only humor behind this book was the humor of MY story . I asked my Mom (since she was an avid reader ) to give me the most romantic book she had ever read. She gave me this book. I don't know how it affected my romantic life but this book surely had me bawling like a baby. The journey of the two young lovers, their fight against cancer and the pathos of death hovering above them would have any teenager howling like a banshee.

There have been quite a lot of books that have made me cry. For some reason, I cried a lot when I read "The Perks of Being a Wallflower" for the first time. I've read it more than 10 times since, and it never fails to move me. Also, "Life of Pi" made me cry quite a lot. The reason behind the tears is unknown to me, but I know it did something to me. I see things differently now.

The Crowning Glory of Calla Lilly Ponder (Ya Ya Sisterhood, Rebecca Wells)

Deathly Hallows: Dobby, we had both read all the books and we opted to go to the bathroom hoping it would be over but it wasn't and I cried at the movie, too

Fireproof - that was a life changer there.

To me, the Harry Potter Series hold a special place. I have read the whole series thrice and have broken down quite a few times. A seven year journey with the characters makes them real for you and you get deeply involved so much so that you want to study in the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry!!

The Last Song - Nicholas Sparks - I literally had to stop reading and dry my eyes, and give my book to a friend to keep so that I could dry my eyes and compose myself.

I don't remember all the books that have made me cry but I do remember the first.. Bridge to Terabithia by Katherine Paterson when I was in primary school.. I am sure they recently made this into a movie so it is being discovered by a whole new generation of readers.. It's a coming of age story but the sad part is quite unexpected in the book.. So many others have moved me but you always remember the first.
