Hi Everybody! This is my first post. I am getting my elementary education major, and also an avid personal reader, which means I read books from kindergarten level to dense philosophy (and exciting mashups thereof.) The last book that made me cry was a young adult novel called The One and Only Ivan. In some ways, I feel like that makes it one of the most impressive literary accomplishments I have encountered. Make me cry with a novel about kids with cancer or racism in the 40s. Pssshhh. Anybody can do that. Make me cry with a novel about a talking gorilla...and you might be on top of the writing game.

Harry potter on multiple occasions but Dobby was the worst.
Also The Host.
She read books as one would breathe air, to fill up and live.

Oh my, yes, absolutely. This one left me such a sodden wreck. The Joy Luck Club by Amy Tan devastated me, too.

Probably Moby Dick. I wept for the whale, captain Ahab didn't impress me, since he was so bent on revenge.

I absolutely cried at the last Harry Potter book! I think I cried at the end of the second Hunger Games book as well. I also just finished Divergent and was pretty emotional at the end. One book I have read more than once that I always cry at is Lisey's Story by Stephen King. This one is extremely underrated and I think everyone should read it! I also finished another King book over the summer, End of Watch, and I cried at that. :(

I cry during books much more than I would like to admit! However, the most recent read that really had me blubbering would by the young adult novel Exit, Pursued by a Bear by E.K. Johnston. The subject matter is quite heavy, but it's a very moving story and I found myself profoundly impacted by it. Storytelling at its finest!

I'm easily moved and many books have made me cry. One I recall that left me crying from the first chapter to the end was Flowers in the Attic by Virginia Andrews.
