Never cried at a book yet, to be honest. Been very wrapped up in dramatic and tense moments as well as some absorbing character development and have felt humor, shock and fear at many books but so far, no tears.

The way everyone was describing it, i thought The Lovely Bones would make me cry but no, it was sad in places but not exactly devastating, i would go so far as to say that Alice Sebold has a slightly predictable writing style.

I am new to this but I figured I would share my thoughts. I am extremly emotional when I read, especially if I connect with the characters.

Tuesdays With Morrie By Mitch Albom
For One More Day By Mitch Albom
New Moon (Twilight Saga)
The Lovely Bones

I tend to cry in stories that I can relate to and these few really pulled at my heart strings!

I just finished the following books that both made tears well up in my eyes:

Tuesday's with Morrie - Mitch Albom
Dear John - Nicholas Sparks.

Both quite the tear jerkers!

**Edit - I read "Sarah's Key" by Tatiana de Rosnay yesterday, and can definitely add this book to the list....

Several of Kristin Hannah's books have made me cry. She's the only author that has actually managed to get me to shed tears.

This will be my first post in this forum it's great to be amongst fellow readers.. now to books that have made me cry (I love those books)

the series Earth's Children by Jean M. Auel is a book that touched me. It can be harsh at times so it's not suited for all ages.. Also the series called "Jarastavens vandring" by saga borg... I'm not sure it's been translated to english though.

Little Women: by Louisa May Alcott.

I've also watched the movie quite a few times, and it makes me cry every time.

I bawled my eyes out to Jane Eyre! Cute endings make me cry! Don't get me started on Jane Austen novels, Persuasion made me cry, because it was so sweet! The only Jane Austen book I didn't cry during is Pride and Prejudice, I'm not a fan of that book (please don't attack me).

Also, The Gemma Doyle trilogy, very sad. :(

The first story that ever made me cry was actually a short story by James Hurst called The Scarlet Ibis. Man that one kills me. Watership Down also gets to me.
