Honestly, my goal is to just read one or two books for myself and not just for school. This semester I have 23 books alone. I don't know if I can push myself to read something for myself. :techie-studyinggray:

I have been challenged by my family to read wider than my own interest and therefore I am planning to read 2 of each of the following:
Books chosen because I liked the cover.
Books I previously started but never finished.
Books by an Author I have never heard of.
Books that everybody is raving about
Books recommended by my wife (that's is going to be a tough one I am sure)
Books to Expand my horizon
Books considered to be a classic
Books published during 2017
Books set in a City I want to travel to
Books written before 1970

That is 20 books in addition to my normal reading (wow)

Looking forward to this!!

I'm planning to read 52 books this year ... one book per week. Which means I'm already behind.

I'm not going to set any specifics because I have such an accumulation of books waiting to be read that I just plan to grab a book from the pile (actually, several boxes and a bunch of bookcases ...) each week and go for it.

How do people manage to find the time to read 100 books in a year?

I read while sitting next to my husband who is watching tv shows that I don't like.

Trying to be realistic, I decided on 12 books this year. I'm reading one each month, but they have to be "substantial." I'm focusing on classic literature, starting with The Idiot.

I have a habit to take off more than I can chew but I'll try to refrain this time : ) 48 will be the magic number this year...it'll be refreshing to set a goal I can reasonably accomplish!

My reading goal for 2017 is to read as much as I can. I'm doing this because I find that sometimes, I can burn myself out trying to read enough books to reach that number goal.

My goal last year was 50. I met it so I'm setting it a bit higher this year. I'm making it 60.

Well, I honestly don't know. I just read and read and never count how many I read in a year. ?

Like many of the replies before mine, I'm going to try and finish up some series I started last year. I'm trying to do at least one review a month although life will probably play a factor in what I actually get done. I've set my goal to 50, but I've been adding books I've read in the past to my bookshelves.
