YES!! I am completely obsessed with the Anita Blake series. Besides those books though I've only read her short stories, although I own more of her novels (been busy, buy, busy)!!

Do you think that her books have remained good despite the smuttiness? It was great when she had principles, but I still enjoy reading all about her adventures.

Also, I finished reading "The Dark Monk: A Hangman's Daughter Tale", quite entertaining. I started reading "Where We Belong" by Emily Griffin but couldn't put it down, so I finished that yesterday. I really want to read "Dance with Dragons" but I don't want to start it until I know I can devote long hours to it. :)

Just finished Tales of 1001 Nights on the bus - it was way more interesting than I expected it to be, and more 'adult'. Now about to start Rose Tremain's The Road Home, which has been in the pile for a while. Looking frward to it.

Reading a "Collected Stories" edition of Ruskin Bond's short stories called "Dust on the Mountain". Love the way he writes and makes everyday life and regular events so expressive and even poignant

I am reading The Snow Child by Eowyn Ivey. Wonderful story of a childless couple homesteading in Alaska in the 1920's. They build a snow child instead of a snowman and later they see a little girl with the hat and scarf of the snowchild with a red fox. I'm sure this will be a wonderful book.

The Plaza by Guillermo Paxton. A timely read, fictional based on factual events in the drug war in Juarez Mexico. An excellent read and a timely, important subject. Highly recommend. And I read Fifty Shades of Grey (well some) by EL James and to be honest was very disappointed. Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn was very entertaining and a satisying read. Now reading The Dharma Bums by Jack Kerouac.

Will be interesting to hear what you make of it. I thought that Kerouac had made his name and got his fans, and didn't have to write well to sell. But I'd love to have somebody explain that I'd missed the point, and that it was very good really.

I have read On The Road and Town and the City, and enjoyed them both. I tried to get through Tristessa, but it was too garbled, like prose on smack.

Good description, that! It would have fitted Kerouac's, "Pomes All Sizes", too.

I am just starting Rules of Civility by Amor Towles. It takes place in New York's "high echelons" during the late 1930's. It looks interesting. :D
