I am currently working my way through the books and short stories in Arthur Conan Doyle's The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes series, and loving every page. I can not believe I had not picked them up prior to watching the BBC adaptation. They are pure, unadulterated fun and it is easy to see the reasons behind the enduring popularity of this iconic character. The stories make a pleasant contrast to the bleaker post-apocalyptic novels I've been reading lately.

I've been juggling books for a while, but I'm re-reading Neil Gaiman's Neverwhere novel. Neil's always done a fantastic job of creating interesting fantasty settings that look worlds different from the usual.

Since I've neglected Harry Potter and Percy Jackson all these years, I figured I would get both series knocked out this summer.

I'm about halfway through Sorcerer's Stone and plan on starting Chamber of Secrets no later than Tuesday!!

Hello! I am currently reading "The City of Heavenly Fire" because I couldn't put the last four down! I was SO, INCREDIBLY disappointed with the movie version they made, but I am hopeful for the "Shadow hunters" show coming to ABC Family next year!

I am about to tackle Anthony Powell's 12 book series, A Dance to the Music of Time. I probably won't read all 12 in one long stretch, but I plan to read them in groups of 3, as they have been designed. The first 3, grouped a Spring, are A Question of Upbringing, A Buyer's Market and The Acceptance World. These three books cover the period of school and University for the main characters.

This was made into a TV series many years ago and I recall enjoying it very much
So we beat on, boats against the current, borne back ceaselessly into the past.

I've been in hospital for a lot of this month (I was hit by a car on the 6th) and even after I got out of ICU, I wasn't able to hold up books to read properly for a good few days so I listened to audiobooks (including all 24 hours of Steven Fry reading Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix) during my stay there when I was in a more stable condition. I went back to the hospital to have stitches taken out and more tests the other day and started reading A Place of Confinement by Anna Dean while I was waiting, I haven't read more since but I'm planning on finishing it tomorrow. Otherwise, I'm trying to finish listening to all of the Harry Potter audiobooks!

I'm getting better both physically and mentally now and I'm glad to be back on the forums now :D I missed it a lot!

I'm told Water for Elephants is very good.
I didn't know Chocolat was a book, I loved the movie! I might just have to read that now :) Right now I'm reading Life of Pi. Very interesting, and I just finished Anne Frank: Diary of a Young Girl.

Right now I'm re-reading Throne of Glass by Sara J. Maas, to say that it's fantastic would be an understatement. You can also buy the whole series on Amazon for a relatively low price, so I'm really happy with it. I can't wait for the next one to come out!
