The Way of Kings by Brandon Sanderson and American Sniper by Chris Kyle. I like to read one nonfiction and one fiction book at a time

I just started The Golden Compass by Phillip Pullman. So far, I like it, though it's not nearly as rigorous as the things I've been reading over the past few weeks. (A little breather has been nice, though, especially since I'm going to start an Oscar Wilde kick soon.)

In addition to Angela's Ashes I am also reading Splintered (Splintered #1) by A.G. Howard .

These are both pen pal reads.

I am reading Dark Places by Gillian Flynn. It is a good book so far. I had read Gone Girl that she wrote and there was a surprise in that one, so I am hoping there is one in this book also. (Otherwise I think I know who did it)

I loved Dark Places! It's actually my favorite of Flynn's books.

I have All of It by Kim Holden on my currently reading list. I haven't started it yet, and I may end up moving something ahead of it. I absolutely loved Bright Side and am so afraid it will overshadow All of It.

The Great Gatsby is on my (very long) list of books to read.
What would you rate it out of 10?

I am currently reading
(1) Liane Moriarty - The Husband's Secret.
(2) Mia Freedman - Mama Mia
(3) Tara Moss - The Fictional Woman

I keep wavering in and out of interest with Liane's novel, but I am enjoying it. Can't 100% recommend it yet, but I'll let you know when I finish.
Am love, love, lovvvvving Mama Mia. Can hardly put it down. It's a definite must read for all women, especially those who are interested in writing like myself.
The fictional Woman isn't quite as good as I thought it would be. It's losing it's momentum but it may pick up again.

I don't read a lot of popular books, but since you say Mama Mia is good for women, I might have to think about it. 8)
