I always prefer hardcovers. They just seem so aesthetically coordinating.

I preger paperbacks. I feel it is much easier to get comfortable in a seat or in bed with a paperback.

I love paperbacks just because they are easier to transport in my backpack.

I buy hard cover when I wanted them to last, books I like to save, mostly heavy reading. While paperback for books i'll read and then pass on to someone else.

Ah, the unanswerable question. If I MUST choose (though I own many copies of both format), I would go with hardcover! I am in love with beautiful dust jackets and fancy inner pages that paperbacks don't have the honor of wearing. I also love having a synopsis on the inside flap of the dust jacket because *pet peeve* I hate when paperbacks only have blurbs from other authors on the front and back but no description! I need to know what the book is about if I'm going to buy it!! Unless I'm hooked by the beautiful cover. Yes, I am book shallow. Lol.

I love to read hardback but when I'm buying usually go for paperback because they are cheaper! When I buy second hand books I tend to go for hardback because they are worn less!

Paperback if you just want to read in any position, at any time. Hardback if you're going to sit up properly and want more durability. Paperbacks are more versatile and are suited for getting beat up even if they're more prone to getting damaged.

I much prefer hard cover books, for looks and durability, but I buy so many books that I often take the (cheaper) paperback route!!

Although for my kids book collection I always spring for the board books or hard covers. The Tasmanian devil is no match for small children when it comes to ruining things, especially books!!

Paperback all the way. I love the smell of them, the way they feel when you hold them. To me it's more intimate, there's more of a connection...it might just be me xD

I have tiny hands, so I definitely prefer the easier to handle paperback versions. But when there is a book that I have read over and over again, I will normally buy it in the hardback version so that I have a really nice copy to keep for a long time.

Paperback for sure. Small and flexible enough to squeeze into a small bag or purse. Books should be as portable as possible!

I love the weight of a hardback, but I carry a book around with me so paperbacks are more practical for me in my day to day life

If I am picking up a book I've never read or just a quick read, I'll go for paperback. But if I've read the book or if I end up really liking it, I'll go back and buy the hard cover to keep long term.
