I've always preferred hardbacks due to the {usually} nicer and clearer clovers but the majority of my bookshelves are full of paperbacks. Hardbacks are just too expensive.

I prefer hard cover because they seem to hold up longer.

I think that paperback books are better to read. Although the hardcover books don't get messed up as easily, the paperback ones are easier to hold and I think I focus better while reading a paperback.

I can go either way, but I definitely like to have the book in my hands! ! I'm not crazy about the eReaders.

I love hard cover books. I like the weight of them in my hands and the cover feels like a protection for the story beneath it when those unfortunate accidents occur (knocking a cup of water over, tripping and dropping the book on the ground etc.).

I prefer hardcover because I tend to re-read books that I love so when I have paperback the covers get completely ripped and torn off from too much reading

I prefer reading paperbacks because I read most often in bed and they are easier to hold one handed. And a lot lighter. :D I prefer hardcovers for my collections because they stay in better shape. Hardcovers are awesome when you have a young child fascinated with books. Paperbacks are easier to travel with and tend to be smaller.

I like both. but I am the same way about a series, if I get the first of a series in paperback, I have to get the rest of the books in paper back, and same goes for hardcover.

Paperbacks are easier for me to handle with nerve issues that I have. But I will definitely buy a hardback if its a new release and I'm too impatient.

I prefer paperback just because they are cheaper to buy generally. But I also really like hardcover because then all the books in a series match better. Usually the last book in a series are smaller then the rest if they are in paperback.

I love the feel of a hardcover book, they hold up better and are even a little nostalgic in a way.
