I prefer hardcovers for their longevity and looks, but paperbacks for their readability.

If it's a series I really like and one I will keep on my bookshelf (as opposed to the box in my closet) I will get hardback books so they look nicer on the shelf. And once I get one in hardback, I have to have the entire series in hardback. I will even go back and buy the earlier books that I have in paperback in hardback so they match. But if it's a book that I'm not likely to read again and won't keep on my shelf, then paperback or e-book is great for me (and much cheaper).

I like both. And that's only because both has it's benefits. My grandmother has to read hardcover in large print.

Paperbacks, because hardcover is too expensive! :D

I love both, honestly. But since I buy a lot of books it gets very costly. And so I prefer paperbacks.

I definitely prefer hardback. However, I hate when there is a paper cover over the book. I always end up damaging it or it always shifts and drives me nuts. I usually just remove it.

I like to have both... but I find paperbacks a little easier. You can transport them better... they aren't as huge and bulky as hardbacks... I don't know. I just love the feel of a paperback in my hand.

This is a hard one, heh heh, pun not intended. I always take the slip covers off of hardbound books, because I have sweaty hands that obliterate paper at hyper speed. But I prefer paperback despite my handicap :)

Hardcover. I don't like how paperbacks get the creases in the spine.

Hardbacks looks better a lot of the time, but paperbacks are easier to deal with. I like folding my books in half, so I would rather own paperbacks.

Totally prefer paperback. I have a book with me at all times (prefer books to e-readers) and paperbacks just travel better and are less expensive.

Hardback books are great, and they hold up better through time.
