I prefer paperback over hardcover books because they tend to be less expensive and they are easier to carry around.

I admit it, I prefer hardcovers whenever I have the choice, but I will deal with a paperback if I absolutely have to.

I usually go for paperback books for a number of reasons. Paperback books are a lot cheaper, so I can buy more books! I also think they are more practical for traveling around with. Since paperbacks tend to be smaller and more lightweight they are super convenient for traveling around with. I live in NYC and commute on the bus and train to most places so I tend to take my books with me for entertainment. I have pretty weak shoulders so I never travel around with hardcover books-that would just lead to pain! Some of you said you were bothered that paperbacks aren't as durable. I agree with that, but I don't mind the books looking a bit ragged!

I'm torn and I don't think I could decide! Both have their pros and cons, but oh well they both contain the same story so as long as I get to read it I guess it doesn't really matter to me :)

For me the hardcover is my preference anytime any day but I always consider the economics involved and always ends up going for the cheaper option which is the coaled back. After all the contents are the same at the end of the day

The only reason I really love paperback is because I get upset if I damage the hardcover. But usually the hardcover is so much prettier! Either way I love how the book smells! Especially older textbooks.

I love hardback books. If I'm buying a series I prefer to have them all in hardback. I do buy paperback books especially when they are cheap. I have some paperbacks that I want to replace with hardcovers just so the look better on my shelf.

Prefer Hardcover but economics dictates e-books.

I prefer paperback. I fits better in my hands, and when I'm reading it's much more comfortable. Also, I don't like big books on my shelf, or in general taking up space! I just stick with paperback! :D

I used to think I was strictly a paperback reader, but mostly it was for the cheaper price. Now I love getting hardcover bargain books at bookstores and prefer them.

I prefer paperbacks. They are easier to hold and to carry around and they are also more affordable - that way I can buy more books!

Paperback all day everyday! I love the feel, they're cheaper, and they take up so much less space!
