Re: Paperback or Hardcover?

I have plenty of hardcovers and paperbacks, but I prefer hardcovers if I can get them. I'm really careful with my books and don't want them to mess up, but because of my clumsiness I like the durability of the hardback.

I prefer a hardcover because then ill be able to keep it longer and pass them down without worrying about the damage it will receive.

I love hardback, but I'm fine with paperback too. Although, if I'm going to have a series, then they all have to be the same!

Hmm.. Both have advantage and disadvantages. 8) Paperbacks are kinda delicate, but have light weight and can be easily carried around in my bag. Hardcovers are heavy, but at least you don't have to worry about them when you lend them to someone! In general, I like physical books than e-books, because they smell and feel so good. :techie-studyinggray:

I like paperback because they bend but on my bookshelf hardcovers look so much nicer so I have a mixture of both

I tend to go for paperback mainly because it's cheaper. I Agree that all the books in a series need to be the same, either all hard back of paperback. I have a couple that are not the same and it drives me crazy.

For novels, I definitely prefer paperback. Hardcovers are more attractive, but I hate when they have a paper cover over the hardcover - I don't think I've ever had one that survived the week! Paperbacks are, as most people mentioned, cheaper, but I find they are also easier to read. When it comes to textbooks, however, I definitely prefer hardcover. My paperback ones were all destroyed by the end of the term.

I would consider myself pretty neutral between paperback and hardcover, but if I had to pick I'd say I prefer to read/have books in a paperback form.

PAPERBACK!!! Love the feel, as well as the fact that they are usually less expensive.

For me, hardcover is to heavy. If you're lying down on your bead while reading, you have to set the book on your stomach. It gets tiresome after a while. And it's easier to carry the soft cover in your bag.

I enjoy either. Paperback is easy on my hands especially when I read for long periods of time. They are also light to tote around. Plus paperback is less expensive, and I am frugal (cheap lol).

When it comes to reading I am not too picky regarding paperback or hardcover. I do have a majority of paperbacks but it is because they are cheaper, to be real honest. When reading a paperback I am real careful because I do not want to tear the cover or bend the pages. I like my books to be in good condition. While paperbacks do make up a majority of my collection, I do have hardbacks that I enjoy. I honestly enjoy the feeling of not having to be so careful with them because they have more protection. I enjoy the quality of a hardcover book also. Overall there are perks of both that I do enjoy!
