It doesn't matter to me. Heck, I've read books with the covers missing if I find the subject interesting. I've salvaged books that are 1/8 of an inch from being garbage and put duct tape on the outside so I could keep the pages together long enough to read it if it looked like a good read. :lol2:

I prefer the hardback editions. Will read the paperback if I can't find what I'm looking for in the hardback.

I tend to buy paperbacks because they fit in my purse better haha. I always have one in there even if I haven't started reading it yet. I guess it's a comfort thing with me.

I prefer paperback because they're cheaper, and like Chrissie said, they fit in your purse!

I like hardcover books more than paperbacks because they feel more valuable. Ca-razy reason, I know. Oddly though, I enjoy reading on a Kindle as much as on a hardcover because I only need one hand to hold the device and I like to read while doing other things. :D

Lately all my books have been on my nook but the last book I bought was a paperback. I find hardback books hard to handle.

I prefer paperback just because it is easier to carry with me because it doesnt weigh as much. But I read both.

oh thats a tough one! Paperback is easier and more convenient to carry about with you but then it can get damaged. Hardcover is more protective but bulkier!! I buy paperback :)

I am so picky about the pages in a book that I prefer hardcover books. I love crisp and clean pages when I am reading and love that the hardcover protects the book. However, I normally end up with paperback due to availability.

I like hardcover books. I have obsessive compulsive disorder so the paperback books are to delicate for me. If the book creases or bends I feel the need to get a new one and give the other away so that I don't have to obsess about the bent corners or creased spine.

I read both but I probably prefer paperback. I just got done reading a hardcover one and am looking forward to a paperback. Much easier to hold.

I prefer paperback....easier to handle and carry around. Worn-out covers are a sign of how many times they've been read and enjoyed.
