This is going to seem a little strange to some...But I love love love Danielle Steele "Fine Things"
I know it's old school..But that story gets me every time..I've read it at least 5 or 6 times over the past 20 years.

It was one of the first books I read as a teen that just made me fall in love with reading..So I have kept the book with me over the years.

My comment may have been posted already but I think life is too short to continually re-read books.
There's too many exciting new ones out there - and besides, with old books, I already know the ending!

I used to read books more than once when I just could not find the next good book. I have really don't feel motivated to read a book then I just wont buy it because i know its highly likely it wont get finished. so I tended to re-read good books. However i now feel the second time around is never like the first time and they end up a bit of a disappointment. but one book i do re-read and re-read is the Morcambe and Wise autobiography which tells the story of how tow comedians made it to super stardom form nothing. just earning pennies. I think its for dark depressing days when life seems be a tough hill -it is so heart warming, full of optimism , real trials and overcoming adversity.

Fictionwise, The Many Loves of Dobie Gillis by Max Shulman. The copy of it I have is dear to me: it was given to me on my last day of high school by the librarian, who was having to discard books and thought I might like to rescue that one. She has no idea how much I adore Shulman's sense of humor. I also have quite a few well-thumbed Star Trek paperbacks!

Nonfiction wise...well, I'm constantly re-reading sections of The Geography of Nowhere by James Howard Kunstler, The Age of Absurdity by Michael Foley, and The Meditations by Marcus Aurelius.

Oh, the book dates to the early 1950s. Side-splitting collection of short stories. I love it to tears, I tell you. :D

I have read the Giver more than any other book. It fascinates me.

Flowers in the Attic by V.C. Andrews. I read the series when I was about 16 and have loved it ever since. :)

I'm always rereading Whitman's Leaves of Grass, The Catcher in the Rye, The Perks of Being a Wallflower, Paper Towns, and when I'm in an epic mood, Dante's The Divine Comedy. But that last one is time-consuming, so not as often do I reread that.

I have a few old favourites that I tend to go back to over the years. When I was younger I re-read Stephen King's 'The Shining' several times. Savouring the build up of isolation and subtle but increasing malevolence of the Hotel.
I then moved on to another SK novel " The Stand". This I have re-read about 4 times. Initially the drama of worldwide devastation and the cessastion of society held me intrigued, plus the thread of spirituality rang my bell.
The last time I read it, I was bemused by how much it had aged, or rather became aware of how much further our technology has moved along.
Another old favourite is SHOGUN by James Clavell. This fantastic adventure really appeals to my wistful desire to live in a simpler time. The detail of the book is immense and Clavell's style is such that when I read of Blackthorn standing at the wheel of his ship, its easy to hear the waves breaking over the sides.

The book I have read the most is Animal Farm by George Orwell. Part of the reason is because it was required
reading in school, but I re-read the book in high school, then re-read it a third time when my son was reading it
for school! I wanted to quiz him, and while I remember the gist of the book, it was great to revisit The Battle
of the Cowshed, and the interaction of the animals. 4 Legs Good, 2 Legs Bad!
