I have re-read Gone With The Wind about 9 times (can't help it... I am a southern woman - smile). I have also re-read Gatsby a few times. Many of Shakespeare's plays have me going back again and again. Many of Truman Capote's books wind up back in my to be read pile - they are like old friends.

The Little Prince. I first read it when I was 15, it has been my favorite book ever since.
When I don't have a new book to read, I reread it. I will never get tired of reading it.

Yesterday I made a book recommendation on these boards of A Confederacy Of Dunces to a new member. I took the book down from my bookshelf to find a passage to quote and before I returned it to my bookshelf made the mistake of opening the book randomly and reading one page. As a result I am once again hopelessly hooked and cannot stop reading it ... it tends to have that effect on people. *L*

No offense intended, but the logic escapes me. If you "never" re-read a book why have a bookcase at all? It would be sort of like saving old shoes which you never intend to wear again and displaying them prominently on your walls wouldn't it?

Notes From The Underground by Dostoyevsky.

I've listened to portions of it on audiobook many times over. To the point where, for about two months, I used to play the audiobook as I went to sleep.

Not only do I love the ranting and raving style of the narrator, but the book is chock full of so many brilliant insights into human nature that I want to commit them all to memory.

There is a lot of books I reread just because to me they are like visiting with an old friend. Sherlock Holmes, Austen, Dickens, Gone With The Wind, Harry Potter, Agatha Christie, Secret Garden, many many more

I reread Lewis Carol's "Alice in Wonderland" the most. To me it will always be a classic.

Interview with the Vampire. I first read this book when I was 11 years old, and 17 years later I have worn my way through about a dozen copies. I never get tired of this book! Admittedly, there are other books I have enjoyed more, but this is the one I hold close to my heart.
