I first read it as pre-teen and for some reason, even though I have gotten older and my reading style older, this book still keeps me interested every time. I also re-read all of the Jane Austin books frequently because they really are wonderful (I know, no ones ever said that before).
I remember Sabriel. I loved that series as a pre-teen. I also reread a book from my middle school years: Fire Bringer by David Clement-Davies. He wrote a number of fantasy books, all of which are good, but Fire Bringer is still my favorite.

I adore these books. They are so quick to grab you in and all the characters are so relatable and charismatic, you'll adopt them all and love them as your own family. There is adventure and humor and even a bit of magic, but not the most romantic of stories. They are long enough and detailed enough to satisfy an adult, but when I read them the first time at 14-15 I was hooked immediately by the story and easy flow. I am known to push it on anyone I come across who enjoys a good series.
