Do you read the dedications in a book? I always do. "A book without a dedication is a love letter without a recipient". ;)

I want to thank everyone who helped me create this book, except for that one guy who yelled at me in Kmart when I was eight because he thought I was being "too rowdy". You're an asshole, sir.

Because we haven't yet met/have only a glancing acquaintance/are just crazy about each other/havent see each other in much too long/are in some way related/will never meet, but will, I trust, despite that, always think fondly of each other ...

I always read the dedications in a book. They give me a brief view into the mind of the author before I even begin reading their book.

I currently cannot think of any good ones, but when I do, I will be back! :D

I can't think of any good dedications off the top of my head, but reading them is something that I have to do when I begin a book. Every time I open a new book, I halfway expect to see a dedication, and I'm a little disappointed if there isn't one.

I love the dedications in books. One of my favorites was by Rick Riordan in "The Blood of Olympus":

To my wonderful readers.
Sorry about that apology for that last cliffhanger.
I'll try to avoid cliffhangers in this book.
Well, except for maybe a few small ones....
because I love you guys.

I love dedications! My favorites are the dedicatons Ayn Rand wrote to her husband, especially in The Fountainheadalso anytime parents dedicate books to their kids.
