The book I picked up a week back and still haven't finished is: To Kill a Mockingbird - Harper Lee (1974).
The book I picked up today is: The DaVinci Code - Dan Brown (2004).

I am reading "Everlost" by Neal Shusterman and it was published in 2006. That's believable because it says to visit the author at MySpace.
