Sounds awesome. However with such spectacular views I don't think I would get any reading done. :)

A very large room in the middle of some beautiful forest or European landscape with bookshelves encompassing the walls all full of books. I would want there to be plenty of places to crawl into a ball of sit and be comfortable so plenty of couches and pillows. It should have somewhere to put random snacks too because we all know food isn't worth it when you're in the middle of a great book.

I don't mind where my dream library is as long as it is quiet, has big windows and a comfortable couch and a big enough space. I would literally make it my bedroom or even my home and never want to leave it!

Mine would be an a big log hunting lodge type house in the middle of a redwood forest near a small stream. Cathedral style ceilings at least 20-30 feet tall so you have to use a ladder to get to the highest shelves. There would be a reading nook in one corner that you climbed a spiral staircase to access. Emphasis on sci fi and fantasy with fiction, thrillers and non-fiction mixed in.

Lots of windows with lots of green outside those windows. There would be a Barista making me whatever I (or my wife) wanted, plus hot chocolate for my kids. There would also be the best kid's and young adult's section ever (custom tailored to my kids, if course).

My dream library would have to be a mansion or very large house in the middle of nowhere, where no one could find me and interrupt me while I read. Which is one of my biggest pet peeves. It would have to be warm and have lots of comfort in it. There would have to be thousands of books for me to read. I can almost picture it now!

A castle with every room being it's own library would be nice. Especially if there is a tower to use as a private reading room/computer room.

Amen, sister.

Can I have the smell of cigar smoke? I used to smoke, but no more. A servant to smoke for me?!!

Somewhere secluded, I don't really give a rip about the view so long as light comes through the windows. Floor to ceiling shelves, and a great big fluffy chair in front of a fireplace. Did I mention coffee and tea? Oh, and I also require muffins. And maybe some gorgeous crystal decanters with some really expensive liquor. Oh oh, and a wine cellar. Wait, what was the question again? (Just kidding)

The quintessential ideal library: I want tall, dark, and handsome wood shelves :) filled with large leather bound books. I also want a large fireplace, great lighting, and the absolute must have for me is rolling ladders with which to reach my uppermost leather tomes. Rolling ladder libraries have always held a great mystique to me.

I like your dream library but it is missing a couple of things. A comfortable place to read/ stetch out and a little bell to ring to fetch the help. I need someone to constantly supply me with fresh tea. :P Hey it is a dream library after all.

Thanks Gali. Bluemel, blabbering blatherskyte I forgot the plush, silken high back chairs with padded armrests of the finest yak's wool. Really though, I left off the high backs on accident. But I did not think of the tea servant. Most excellent bluemel!!

Really though, if any of us had a fireplace, would it not just end up like this? Hahaha
