I often feel that way especially if the book is part of a series. I get anxious to get to the end to find out how the story is completed but then sad because I know that my "relationship" with the characters is over.

I definitely feel like that about the Harry Potter series, too. But also some of the series by Joanne Harris could just go on... Unfortunately I mostly stumble upon series that should have stopped after Book 1.

Not really... usually, I think that book series are drawn out too much and that they shouldn't have lasted as long as they did.
I fear the haters will come after me now...

I'm sure I've had this feeling before but I can't seem to remember any particular names right now.

I feel that way about most books that I read and make a connection with. I always want to know what's happening to the characters once the book ends and how their story continues.

I like a long book series, but I always feel there should be an end to sum up the series.

Every series I have read I wanted them to never end. I know that the main event has to happen and the main picture has to end but what happens after the big fight? What happens after the wall comes down and after the law that held everyone back is gone?

Yes that is what I was thinking the relationship is what makes the end sad. I feel that about books that aren't even in a series.

Absolutely! I morn the loss of a great book series when I finally have to place the last installment on the shelf. I call this condition book hangover. The most recent experience I had with this was the Legend Series by Marie Lu. But I also felt this way with all of Cassie Clare's books and the Divergent series. I know I seem rather predictable but these are what I have read lately!!!

There are some series I have read that I could read forever like Harry Potter and Debbie Macomber but then there are some where I think to myself what the heck was I thinking starting this. I think in the end it all depends on the author, if you enjoy reading what the author has to say then you enjoy the series and wish it would never end.

Really miss the Sookie Stackhouse series by Charlaine Harris. I understood why it had to end, but I still miss it.

OMG! This happens way to often. What's worse however, is when I've discovered an author and read all there books and start looking for the next and realize they are dead and I've already read everything they wrote. Uggh! Breaks my heart. Good authors should be immortal.
