Re: What is Your Favorite Word Today?
I am confused, I must admit, about spatulas. Are they the - forgive me - rubber scrapers we use to clean out the mayo jar? Or are they larger thingies that we use to flip pancakes? Or both?

I refer to spatulas as the scraper to the mayo jar (I usually use it to scrape the last bit of nutella or peanut butter for er.. cooking) as well as the flipper for pancakes. Shrug. The definition refers to the flexible blade as well as something to remove from cooking utensils.
And I just learned a new word today: Spatulate. adjective
1.shaped like a spatula; rounded more or less like a spoon.

I refer to the spatula as the rubber scraper that cleans out the mayo jar (I usually use it to scrape the last bit of nutella or peanut butter for er... cooking) as well as for the flipper used for pancakes. The definition would suggest that it would be correct to use it for both....

Not sure how to use that in a sentence though... "It looks spatulate"? hmmm

Stand up, raise your right arm and say it with a bit of dramatic flair: "Excelsior!"
You'll be glad you did.
