Now for something a little out of the ordinary - Oh the Places You Will Go - it is a Dr Suess book and I dont think I can explain you will just have to read it and definitly a must have in the childrens collection. A good topic for adults and children alike!

A personal fave - I even had it read at my wedding :D

Books by Katelyn Brawn

My favorite author right now is Katelyn Brawn, she's written two books called "Her Hair" and "The Prowler" they are both available on amazon, just search for her name. I think she's a really great writer, both of her books are completely different, but I think she's really great!

Best read of the year

Post Number:#147  Postby booker » 14 Dec 2009, 23:44

It is so hard to decide a "favorite" so I usually respond with my favorite book of the year. This year it is "The Guernsey Literary and Potato Pie Society." Sorry, it was lent to me and I forgot the two author's names. Plan to buy it for a wonderful re-read. Love novels with great characters and a plot that teaches me something. Written any other way, the story would be a depressing story about post WWII England and the occupation of the British Isles. Instead it is filled with wonderful, funny, quirky characters that anyone would love to have as friends. Through letters they tell their story of survival with humor, compassion and no self pity. Did not want the book to end! It was like saying goodbye to great friends.

The Mammy by Brendan O'Carroll - OMG this book just cracks me up. I was laughing so hard I couldn't even see the page. It is part of a 4 book series, they are all brilliant.

The Handmaid's Tale - Scary stuff, hits a little too close to home. And anything else by Margaret Atwood, she is without question my favorite author.
