Read it when I was in high school--at the same time as a number of my friends did . We had so much fun discussing it etc. I had seen the movie prior and like it. Although when watched it after reading the book noted differences in movie vs book. I have found it is typical --and still haven't decided whether I really like the movie versions of books, as sometimes ones own "picture" of is better than the screen version.
