My favorite book is To kill a mockingbird, it is classic that never fails to ignite my imagination and reminds that situations aren't always as they seem

I don't have one specific favorite book. But I can say The Age of Innocence by Edith Wharton, La Ligne Noir by Jean-Christophe Grangé aand Even Cowgirls Get The Blues by Tom Robbins are my most-liked books.

Its hard to narrow it to one book but it would have to be Prince of Tides by Pat Conroy! Next would be The Stand by King. I have a shelf of favorite books that I won't loan out just in case I don't get them back. There are 12 books on it that are my absolute favorites. and these are the top two.

I have read so many books that I love that it's really hard to choose one! But I did really love The Summer House by Santa Montefiore; it's really beautifully written and you think that the bombshell happens towards the beginning, but that's actually contradicted at the end with a massive surprise!

My favourite book is whatever I’m reading at the moment and that depends on how I feel – at the moment. A contemporary romance, a Regency romance, maybe some self improvement, perhaps a bit of history – the list goes on. I don’t really have a favourite. When I finish a book, I might keep it my Kindle to read again.

I would have to say that my favorite book is The Magus by John Fowles, with some close seconds of 1984, The Beach, Lord of the Rings, The Hunchback of Notre Dame, The Count of Monte Cristo, and Ender's Game.

My favorite book is 'The Picture of Dorian Gray' by Oscar Wilde
I love how Wilde spins an atmosphere for goth, romance, evil, beauty, secrecy, sin and guilt in the book.
But what I love most is how Wilde leaves the reader with ambiguity regarding Basil's growing admiration for Dorian Gray simply because he is his muse or because he falls in love with his muse

I honestly cannot pick one. Because I love reading and I've read so many different genres. But I love romance the most and so any romantic book would definitely be my first preference.

I agree with Mrs M. that this is an almost impossible question to answer. I've had many favourite books over the years and though I don't suddenly cast them aside, I read others that can temporarily take their place. I'm absolutely in awe of Dorothy Dunnett's work, especially her novels about Lymond. It took me some time to 'get my head round' her complex style and use of language, but after that I was hooked. I also loved River God by Wilbur Smith and the Boudicca series by Manda Scott. From many years ago, I still have a soft spots for Jane Eyre and Gone with the Wind.
