Probably "Pillars of the Earth". :D

My favourite book is Midnight's Children by Salman Rushdie (1981) and I see, after many years of saying "it would be impossible to make into a movie" that it has finally happened. Can't wait to see the result and hear what all my friends who say "it is impossible to read or understand" will think of the movie. :)

My favorite book that I have read recently was probably the newest book by James Rollins and Rebecca Cantrell, The Blood Gospel.

Does anyone on here have the similar taste?

My absolute favorite book is The Lion, the witch, and the wardrobe from C.S Lewis's Chronicles of Narnia. I first read it when I was eight or nine and I saw the movie in 2005. I have several books that I like but that will always be at the top. I love the Coronation scene

Hi Bighuey and Jasson007, I assume you are referring to the Jack Kerouac novel On the Road. Can either of you tell me what it is supposed to be about? I was totally bored, as I thought it was probably the most pointless book I have ever read. I respect that you consider it a favourite - it's great that people have different tastes.

Good to know! I just started this one. Been on my TBR for a long time.

There wasnt much point to it, thats for sure. Its just about a bunch of wanderers and their adventures rambling around the country and their free and easy lifestyle. Back during the Beatnik era, it was a very popular book among the Beat generation. At one time I was a wanna-be Beatnik, but I could only do it on weekends. I had to work during the week.

Yellow Crocus by Laila Ibrahim. I realized while I was reading how rare it is that a novel deals directly with the intimate details of birth and mothering. It is an insightful look at the heartbreak, courage, silences, and love that exist a midst the cruelty of slavery and the bizarre rationalizations of those who profited from plantation life.

I love every book Kresley Cole has written and I would count all of them among my favorites. Pride and Prejudice is also one of my favorites. Just so classically wonderful!
