That's a hard question. I have a few that I just read over and over, and then some that have really inspired me.

Evan, by Diana Palmer
Adrian's Undead Diary, by Chris Phillbrook
Jesse's Wife, by Kristin James

Robert Tressell, right? I haven't read it. What is the basic story?
So we beat on, boats against the current, borne back ceaselessly into the past.

Definitely going to go with "The Power of One" by Bryce Courtenay. The sequel "Tandia" is another great but for me The Power of One is a truely splendid book. Beautifully writen and a true joy to read.

Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy hands down. Got me into the world of reading and had a huge influence on my personality and outlook, can't ask for much more than that in a book.

I think Gone with the Wind...
Read it when I was in high school--at the same time as a number of my friends did . We had so much fun discussing it etc. I had seen the movie prior and like it. Although when watched it after reading the book noted differences in movie vs book. I have found it is typical --and still haven't decided whether I really like the movie versions of books, as sometimes ones own "picture" of is better than the screen version.

"Pride and Prejudice" by Jane Austen comes to mind, but I have to say it's probably tied with "Insomnia" by Stephen King for favorite book. It doesn't matter how many times I pick up either of those books, they're always engaging and hard for me to put down.

I find myself coming back again and again to Robert McCammon's "Boy's Life." It was a very different book for McCammon. On the surface, it's a mystery, but's it more of a coming-of-age fantasy. Each chapter could be a stand-alone short story that incorporates fantasy elements. You could almost imagine it as things happening as seen through an imaginative boy's eyes. I love the stories and sense of childlike wonder throughout the book.
