I haven't had any outright stolen, but I've had friends borrow books then I've never seen them again. Sometimes the book, AND the person too! LOL They must have stolen a book from another person that was really miffed about it haha!

Yes! I had a set of Harry Potter hard backs that I collected as they were released at the midnight parties at my local Hastings that were stolen. I lived with a roommate in an apartment. When we were moving out I packed everything up but the Harry Potter books were so heavy I put them in their own separate little box. When I moved into my house I never found the box. I figured that my roommate accidentally took the box of books. I asked her about them and requested that they were returned to me she said she didn't have them. Where else would they go? I am pretty sure she stole them!

I never had a book stolen but when I was younger I borrowed a brand new book to a friend and got it back in tatters - I cried.

Not in a stolen sense. My books get borrowed by fellow bookworms and they end up not returning them. That's why I won't return theirs either. Haha.

I haven't had any of my books stolen (I don't think) but I recently found books in my room that I'd borrowed from friends a lot time ago but forgotten to give back, so maybe they think I've stolen them!

I've had a bible come up missing, in jail. I've stolen a few books, but I feel I was told to take them.

I haven't had any of my books stolen. Friends have borrowed and then not returned for a year or so, but I've done the same to them (it gets mixed into my library and I can't find it) so we end up even. But none of my books have been stolen before. That would be awful.

Not stolen, more temporarily missing from my shelves.

I share a lot of book interests with a friend and when we are at each other's houses we raid the bookshelves and each of us come away with an armful. I am at a loss now to know what's mine and what's his. I suppose you could say I have gained a friend and shared custody of joint bookshelves rather than had some stolen.

Yep. My hardcover mockingjay book. Had a fight with a friend and she took it and left it in Germany on purpose.

I don't think I've had any stolen on purpose, but I've had a few that were borrowed and never returned.
