Ha, that's a good one!DBarber0322 wrote:Not focusing on number of pages but rather the story line itself, i would have to say "The Valley of Amazement." This book should have been titled "The book that Never Ends."

I remember we were assigned to read "Wives and Daughters" by Elizabeth Gaskell for school, and it's the first thing that popped into my head when I saw this thread, because all I can remember about this book was that it was LONG; but I just looked it up, and it's only 468 pages! Harry Potter's Order of the Phoenix is 896 pages, so I know for a fact this wasn't the longest book I've ever read, even though it felt like it!

The Idiot was 582.
Gone with the Wind was 695.
Fall of Giants was 848.
Housr of Earth 853.
I am certain I have read thousand pagers, but nothing is really jumping out at me from the shelves right now.

Though some bits in the plot gets stretched, it is a page turner and I loved his way of story telling

And several of Dickens' novels come in at 900-1000 pages.
