The most I would allow myself to read at once is 3. I don't want to spread myself too much by carrying details and stuff from a lot of books so yeah, that's it. Normally, just one.

I've never been one to binge read or watch anything, so I can divide my attention between two books at a time. I'm currently reading two completely different books for entertainment and because I'm reviewing one of them. This is especially possible when I'm traveling somewhere and there is no internet. :techie-studyinggray:

2-3.......... A book for reviewing, the book of the month (something just for fun if I'm done with the book of the month), and usually something nonfiction as well (typically politics or history).
Life without a good book is something MrsCatInTheHat cannot imagine.

Generally only one at a time, unless it is for school.

I usually start on about three or four books at a time. I keep them in the places that I am day or night and I just read.

I usually have at least two books on the go at one time. Many times three. I will have one book that I am reading (normally on my e-reader, one audiobook that I am listening to, and often another one that I have to read at work during lunch time.

I would say that the maximum that I have read at one time was about 5 for school. I was taking 4 English classes in college in the same semester. Never again. It was 2 books for African American Lit Topics, 1 for Native American Lit, 1 for American Lit, and a class on the Novel. The worst part was that there was a lot of cross over at points and it made the books even harder to tell apart, but at the same time, it connected them in my mind. I think the most important thing is to remind yourself of events and characters from each book at random moments when you aren't reading. That way you can remember and keep them straight. Comparing and contrasting can also help you remember. The most I normally have going at one time now is 1-3 books and I try to make sure that they are completely different. I have one to two books on my computer at a time that I am working on and one hard copy for when I don't have my computer.

I generally read four to five at a time, mostly because I need to get things done and noted quickly. I don't get confused by this at all.

On daily basis, I use to have about four books started. At the moment I have no problem with diving in all of them. Normally three are for work and one on my back just for pleasure. It works fine for me and I have them all marked, written, underlined and full of notes and bookmarks. I need more hours a day!

It is difficult to count the number of books I read at one time, but I will try. I usually have four books, but currently five, out in the living room where I read most of the time. Technically I only read two of these at a time though. I usually have three to four books laid out in my bedroom that I like to read before I go to bed. I have one book in my studio that I read when I take a break from my art here and there to free up my mind a little bit. Sometimes it helps with the creativity for some reason. Then there is my kindle, where I read maybe about three or four books at a time. I know it sounds like a lot lol, somehow I just got into the habit of having a couple of books in each room I spend time in.

I try to have just 2 but sometimes I have 3 going at the same time. It makes things a little more interesting while reading. You may want to read about business stuff one day and then the next, you want to read about fiction. It keeps me balanced.

I never imagined that I would be the person who is balancing 2-3 books at once. However, I'm part-way through about 3 books currently. I don't get confused because only 1 is fiction and requires me to remember the characters, plot, etc.

The other 2 books are a memoir-ish novel, and a historical non-fiction. So I take these in smaller bites, and go full-speed on the fiction.

One at a time, but there was an exception to the the Game of Thrones series. The books are so long and dense, I stop about halfway through, start and finish another book, and then come back to finish the rest of it.

My "Currently Reading" shelf is more like "Books I've Currently Checked Out From My Library" shelf. I read one book at a time. I like to give the book my full attention.
