Way too many. I hate to turn them in to a second hand book store for "credits" since most of the options there are either bodice-rippers or totally uninteresting for me. My husband and I overlap reading in a few areas, but only a few. I have many that I know I want to read, but haven't yet and often pick up several years after buying them.

And of course that dusty set of Will Durant's The Story of Civilization. Costs more to ship that I would get for it secondhand.

Probably around 150. I had more but when I recently moved I donated several boxes.

I have in the 300 range. Every couple of years I go through them and donate some but I'm a bit selfish and there are some that I just wont part with. About half of them are in the trunk of my car since I have NO room in my house.

I have just over 1400   They are stacked in boxes, put in storage and sprawling across bookshelves all through my house. And I still buy more. I'm sure there is a name for a person like me....

my husband and I have 1,148 books.

The fiction is alphabetized, nonfiction arranged by category in the built-in bookshelves in our dining room. We really are the type of people who alphabetize our books, and Library Thing was necessary so we didn't buy books we already had. We still use the library all the time for most of our reading needs - most of our books are second-hand.

I'm afraid to count. I only keep hard backs and give away or trade any paperbacks I acquire. I have several large bookcases full and many boxes in the basement.

100+

I received the bookshelf in my room as a birthday present in 2008, and at the time I could barely fill it up halfway. Now I have to place books all over my room.

over 500, and I keep adding to my collection. I hope to someday have a library in my house, though I only want books in it that I've already read or plan on reading soon. A huge library full of books I've never opened and probably never will would just depress me.

Oh my...

Well, I collect manga and read them all the time. I'm always making trips to Borders to get the latest volumes. I have 1,675 of these.

This of course, doesn't count all my novels or other books. I'd probably be close to 2,000 if i added them all up.

I am seriously running out of room. I have two bookshelves in my room double-stacked and overflowing. The boards on them are bowing and I'm afraid they are gonna come crashing down on my little Chihuahua one of these days! The house I am in is small so there is not much I can do about it. I have many books stored away in boxes in our shed, a closed bookshelf in the garage, drawers of my dresser, and in my closet. Oh, and there are quite a few under my bed. I could open my own little library if I wanted to, haha! I wish I had my own place so I could just fill the place with books.

Most I read and then donate away, so I only have about 35 books that I really wanted to hang onto.
