Books you've wanted to go into

Post by rachel5 »

I bet we all have a book or books that we like that we thought the writing was so good we wanted to go into the book and join the characters. What are some books you could go into if you had the chance? I'd go into:

The Lion, the witch and the wardrobe by C.S Lewis
Life of Pi by Yann Martel
Mossflower by Brian Jacques

Harry Potter...I'd love to take a stroll around Hogwarts :)
You know you’ve read a good book when you turn the last page and feel a little as if you have lost a friend.

The His Dark Materials trilogy by Phillip Pullman. I want a daemon!

And Harry Potter, of course.

I've never really wanted to join a character inside a book until I read Jasper Fforde's sci-fi fantasy detective series featuring Thursday Next. She travels back and forth into the BookWorld (mainly by reading herself into books) and Fforde's concept often uses unknown characters within well-known books. "The Eyre Affair" is the first in the series.

Well, I could name several books I'd like to go into and in once instance I hated the book so much I DID go into it. (Normally I just use the pages.)

OK ... real answer ... The Wizard of Oz. Beautiful country, the witches are dead, and I hear they have a job opening for a wizard and I think I can bluff my way into it.

@DATo
I think you'd make a charming wizard ..... notwithstanding that first sentence of your post :shock:

To get back to the topic: Two books come immediately to mind, Under the Tuscan Sun by Frances Mayes & Chocolat by Joanne Harris. Why those two? Elementary - France, Italy, Sunshine, Food, Wine, Chocolate & good looking charming men

I'd like to see the Wall in "A Song of Ice and Fire" by George R.R. Martin, but I'd probably get killed off along with the other main characters

Almost all books that I've really loved: Harry Potter, The Hunger Games, His Dark Materials, The Faith, A Song of Ice and Fire...that's the mark of a good book as far as I'm concerned, you just wish you were a part of it.

Harry Potter, of course. I'd give anything to meet Dumbledore. Also, I'd love to time-travel through Tralfamadore with Billy Pilgrim.

Honeymoon in Space by George Griffith. It would be really cool to take your new bride to all the planets.
