i'm a disaster in the kitchen, so there's no way i can handle it without a piece of paper telling me EXACTLY what to do, and when to do it :))) i hate cooking, but i love food. i am, however, a raw vegan for 1 an already, so this makes things to much simpler for me. i bought many raw vegan and vegetarian books, which really helped me a lot. i read them all, but still can't handle the kitchen without the books :))) so, they are there all the time. if they weren't i'd starve to death!

My family often jokes that if they ever need to find me, there are probably two likely places I would be; at work or in the kitchen. I absolutely love concocting strange new culinary creations, so naturally I scour recipe books like a normal person read magazines. I just find it so neat to read new recipes with strange and unique ingredients and techniques, and also to dive into all of those 'old' books that grandmas passed down to read about the classic recipes. I'm a foodie.. what can I say

I love cooking and also collect recipe books.

My favourite one is "What Katie Ate" - it is full of fun illustrations and a story that goes with every dish.

No, I don't read them, I just go through or glance through and try out whatever I like in there.

I taught myself how to cook by loaning cookbooks from the library! Also, I go to thrift stores and yard sales to buy cookbooks.

I have shelves of cookbooks and folders of Xerox copies!

Nope, I think I am learning to cook more if I watch the food being cooked than reading the recipe :D

I do read as a book per se. I may just go through it.

Absolutely! Cooking books are really cool to look at and read. But the disappointment that comes after your creation doesn't look like the pictures suck.
