Al fresco...whether coffee shop...or rocking chair on the terrace with sweet tea or just sprawled in the shade with a good read. Love reading outside.

Inside, it would have to be on my comfy loveseat with a cup of tea at hand!

Outside, on a rug under a shady tree looking out on the ocean. So therapeutic. ...

I haven't really found my favorite place to read yet; as of now, I do most of my reading in bed before I go to sleep. I think I'm going to start reading in new places, you know, just to try them out and decide what I like. Maybe in the park, sitting under a tree on a grassy field? Who knows...

I also love reading on the beach. I find it so relaxing to read with the sound of the waves in the background. I also like reading outside in a park, for example. But also inside, in bed...pretty much anywhere! :)

That sounds ideal to me! But I'd have to say, ever since being forced to read Whitman's "Song of Myself" in high school, I've been persuaded to often lean and loaf on the grass while I read ;)

I agree with most people that I can read just about anywhere if I am readying a good book. However, my favorite place to read so far was in a hammock by the beach. The bad side is that I was so comfortable that I tended to fall asleep. I also really love reading IN the pool.

Eventually, when I build my dream house I will make my own little reading nook. I want a big bay window with a mat and pillows galore so that I can just sink into the pillows on the window seal and read while basking in the sun, surrounded by my own mini library. :)

My ultimate reading environment would be an overstuffed comfy chair, an ottoman to go with it, and a reading lamp.
Preferably with a nice rain shower going on outside and room in the chair for a cat to snuggle next to me.
No TV on, no music.
Just me, the book and the cat.

In the big field in my back yard is a large evergreen tree. There is room to site under a large canopy of branches. I can set up a lawn chair and enjoy the shade while I read, it is very private - rather "ultimate" I would say!

My favourite reading place is in my nice new cosy chair with ottamon. It is perfect for reading and I have just bought a nice reading lamp to go next to it. I can't have music (unless it is classical) or the TV on as I need silence when I read. I find it too distracting if I can hear other people talking. It is perfect when it is cold and rainy outside and I'm snuggled up on my chair with my book. To make it more perfect I would add a fireplace, a nice glass of red and a dog at my feet. :D

I like the thought of reading in bed but always end up falling asleep...

Definitely need to try out some more reading spots such as sitting on the beach or overlooking a pool :D

The environment is a little less important for me than the conditions. I like to have some water so I don't have to keep getting up to hydrate, and also need some quiet! Conflicting noises suck the fun out of a book- they remind me too much that what I'm reading does not line up with my surroundings.
