Thank god I'm not alone in this! I barely made it through "Dracula" and gave up on "Frankenstein". I felt guilty thinking "Salem's Lot" was a much better version than the original of "Dracula". And don't get me started on 'A Farewill to Arms'! The dialogue between the ambulance driver and the nurse was insufferable. "You don't love me" "Yes I do" "No you don't" Oh but I do" "Okay, maybe you do, but I don't believe you"...

If you don't enjoy it, you don't enjoy it. Why force yourself to read and enjoy it just because society has given certain books privileged position. I personally like Hemingway, though. Same goes for Orwell.
